The 24th Indian Engineering Congress will be held at Surathkal, Mangalore during December 10 to 13, 2009, concurrently with the 90th Annual General Meeting of IEI on December 2010. The Mangalore Local Centre of The Institution of Engineers (India) extends a hearty welcome to the Congress Delegates and with support from the NITK, Surathkal will endeavour to make the stay of guests and delegates, comfortable, pleasant and a memorable one

National Growth and Security - Technological Challenges
The liberalization of the Indian economy has led to massive changes in all facets of our life. We have now increasing freedom of choice in practically every field. The opening-up of travel, telecommunications, entertainment and the accessibility to the internet, etc have opened up our society and given us a wide range of options.
the Congress will deliberate on the chosen Theme "National Growth and Security- Technological Challenges" . A panel of experts, scholars, professionals and visionaries will provide direction, otivation to the discussion with the objective of facilitating free exchange of ideas, views and concepts in open forums.

Call for Papers
Engineering professionals from industries, research and development organizations, academic institutions, Government departments are invited to contribute papers on the theme and sub-themes of the Congress mentioned earlier. The papers should focus on sharing the experience, concepts, developmental ideas, research findings, etc. Those who intend to submit a paper may please note the scheduled dates given below.

An abstract not exceeding 150 words shall be attached to paper in the beginning. The abstract should give details, such as, title of the paper, author(s) names, affiliation, full mailing address, phone and e-mail address.
