Ashok Leyland Sponsored Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Product Design

Dear Sir/Ma’m,

With reference to the subject mentioned above; Ashok Leyland Limited, engaged in the business of Commercial Vehicles and PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, among the top Engineering Colleges in Tamilnadu, have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding to promote two Post Graduate Diploma courses open to B Sc Graduates in Physics with ancillary subjects Maths/Physics. This also provides an attractive opportunity for B Sc (physics graduates to gain knowledge/skills in the engineering discipline, ultimately leading to a career opening in an automobile concern of repute viz, AL.

The course offered is one and half year Post Graduate Diploma in Product Design (PGDPD). This Post Graduate Diploma Program will help the company to fulfill its requirement of ready-trained frontline resources for its Plants and Service centers across the country.

The AL-PSG partnership programs will induct science graduates with a B.Sc and take them through a trimester-based one year intensive theory and practical’s at PSG Tech. This will be followed up with a 6 month internship at product development center of Ashok Leyland. It is this internship that will make the difference as this will be monitored jointly by the Faculty of PSG Tech and the Senior Executives of Ashok Leyland. The syllabus is tailored to the needs of the industry and the internship will help the students to relate the inputs at PSG Tech with real life situations.

The course is fully residential at PSG Tech and is sponsored by Ashok Leyland. The students who successfully pass the course will be employed by Ashok Leyland. The batch size will be of about 30 students.
