Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering-Kanchipuram

Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering, Nemili, Sriperumbudur, affiliated to Anna University and Approved by AICTE was set up in 2001 with three traditional B.E programmes in ECE,CSE and IT and is very special in many ways. It is the first college conceived and established by a group of Non-Resident Indians based in Gulf. Besides being the first in Tamilnadu to start a B.E programme in Bio-medical Engineering in 2002, the college started a unique programme in Petroleum Engineering, the first of its kind in Southern India, in 2005. Two other B.E programmes, in Mechanical Engineering and in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, were also added in 2005. The Gulf Returnees Educational Society which has established this college, with the visionary and dynamic leader Dr. G. George as Founder General Secretary and Correspondent, is committed to developing this college as an Institution of Excellence. Dr.R. Bhaskaran, Former Professor and Dean Continuing Education at IIT Kharagpur is the Director of the Institute and Dr.Aroky Raj.U, former Professor of ECE with extensive industrial system experience in the Energy sector is the Principal.
