Entrance Exam Question Papers/Syllabus

GAT-ENTRANCE EXAM SYLLABUS:

The online thest will be of two hours duration. It will be based on objective type question with multiple choice

A. GAT(UGM)-2009 is conducted to select candidates for admission to following undergraduate management programs

_ MBA (5 year Integrated) with the option of obtaining B.B.A at end of 3 years and B.B.A (Hons) at the end of 4 years.

_ MFC (5 year Integrated) (Master of Finance and Control) with the option of obtaining B.Com., at end of 3 years and B.Com., (Hons) at the end of 4 years. _ BBM (3 years)

B. Admission Criteria : The following are the criteria for admission to BBM, five year Integrated MBA and MFC Programs :

i. Pass in 10+ 2 Examination with a minimum of 50% Marks or equivalent grade. ii. Score obtained in GAT (UGM) - 2009. The components of the test are as follows

Written Test - 60 %

Group Discussion - 25 %

Personal Interview - 15 %

C. Details of Written Test : The duration of the test is 2 Hrs. The test consists of four sections as follows.

Note: Candidates with valid score of UGAT of 2008-09 of All India Management Association, New Delhi will be exempted from appearing for GAT (UGM) – 2009 but they need to apply and appear for Group Discussion and Personal Interview provided they are among the short listed candidates.

D. Syllabus of Written Test

_ Section A : 25 questions on Verbal Ability

(Passage Writing, Sentence Correction, Synonyms, Antonyms and Sentence Formation etc.,)

_ Section B : 25 questions on Numerical Data Analysis (Involving Arithmetic, Geometry etc.)

_ Section C: 25 questions on Reasoning and Intelligence

_ Section D: 25 questions on General Knowledge

All questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions); each question with a choice of four answers, only one being correct choice. Each correct answer fetches 3 marks, while each incorrect answer has a penalty of 1mark. No marks are awarded for questions not attempted.

E. Group Discussion

The qualified candidates will be given a topic on the spot and candidates will be divided into suitable groups. Each individual will be given an opportunity of making his / her presentation on the topic followed by group discussion which carries 25 % of weightage.

F. Personal Interview

The candidates who have completed GD will be called for personal interview which carries 15 % weightage.

The candidate’s aptitude towards management, qualities of commitment, hard work and temperament will be considered.

IV. Admission to Undergraduate Management Programs

GAT - (UGM) - 2009 Test Code No. 97

GAT - 2009

A. The GAT(PGM)-2009 is conducted to select candidates for admission to the following Postgraduate Management Programs

_ MBA (2 years) Master of Business Administration _ MFC (2 years) Master of Finance & Control

_ MHRM (2 years) Master of Human Resource Management _ MSc (Mgmt.) (1 year) of University of Glasgow

_ PGADRIM (1 year) PG Advanced Diploma in Risk & Insurance Management

B. Admission Criteria : The following are the criteria of selection for admission to PG Programs in Management

i. Pass in any Bachelor Degree with minimum second class of not less than 50% of marks or equivalent grade.

Candidates who are waiting for final results can also apply. A candidate with any PG Degree is eligible for admission to PGADRIM Programme.

ii. Score obtained in GAT (PGM) - 2009.

The components of the test are as follows

Written Test - 60 %

Group Discussion - 25 %

Personal Interview - 15 %

Note : Candidates with valid score of CAT/MAT/ATMA of 2008-09 will be exempted from appearing for GAT (PGM) – 2009 but they need to apply and appear for Group Discussion and Personal Interview provided they are among the short listed candidates.

iii. For M.Sc (Management) of University of Glasgow, the candidate should have minimum of 60% or equivalent grade in any Bachelor degree and ILETS score minimum of 6.5 (preferably 7) without any subset less than 6. The candidate must produce the required proof at the time of counselling.

C. Details of Written Test : The duration of the test is 2 Hrs. The test consists of four sections as follows.

i ) SectionA : 25 questions on Quantitative (Mathematics) ability involving Arithmetic, Elementary Algebra, Geometry, (data interpretation), Sets, Relations and Functions etc. of 10+2 Standard.

ii ) SectionB : 25 questions on Analytical / Logical Reasoning

iii) SectionC : 25 questions on Verbal proficiency in English involving sentence completion, analogy, reading comprehension, antonyms, etc.

iv) SectionD : 25 questions on current business affairs of India and the world.

V. Admission to Postgraduate Management Programs

GAT - (PGM) - 2009 Test Code No. 96

GAT - 2009
