INDIA, the leading developing country in the world plays a vital role in the field of HRD especially in the areas of science, Engineering and technology. It most satisfactorily fulfils the needs of world’s HRD demand. The Contribution of south India especially Tamilnadu is appreciable as the migration of technical persons such as Skilled assistants, Technicians, Scientists and Engineers is high. Under the context of globalization, most of the leading foreign MNC’s are interested in starting business in India especially in South India.
The Educational Policy of India also encourages the growth of Technical Institutions in the Country. Hence, there is a very good demand for the qualified and quality engineers of fresh in nature among the public and private sectors including overseas.
Having on the above Concept in the vision, Sree Sastha College of Engineering has been started under the aegis of A.M Kanniappa Mudaliar and A.M.K Jambulinga Mudaliar Educational Trust, a well known Educational Trust, a well known Educational and Industrial group at Vellore as well as at Chennai in Tamil Nadu.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 1999-2000 with a sanctioned intake of 40 for offering 4-year B.E. course. The AICTE, New Delhi approved an increased intake to 60 in 2000 - 2001, to 90 in 2002 - 2003 and later to 120 in the academic year 2004 - 2005.
The Department also offers a M.E. degree course in VLSI design since 2005-2006 and another M.E. degree course in Communication Systems since 2007 - 2008, each with a sanctioned intake of 18.
The department has been granted NBA accreditation twice for three years in 2004 as well as in 2009.
This department has been granted permanent affiliation by the Anna University, Chennai.

The objective of the "National Conference on Recent Trends in Communication Engineering 2k14 (NCRTCE-2k14)" is to provide a platform for academicians and practitioners who are involved in research in the field of Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Science Engineering to contribute and to disseminate the innovative and important new work.
The conference will provide a leading forum for sharing the original research contributions and practical development experiences among researchers and application developers. It will provide motivation to teachers to pursue their research work in relevant fields.
