A NATIONAL LEVEL TECHNICAL SYMPOSIUM
General Rules
· All the participants are required to be present at the venue an hour before starting of each event.
· Participants must bring their college identity card with photo identification or an authorization letter.
· The decision of judges will be final for all competitions.
· Teams are requested to inform in advance to the coordinators the day and time of arrival and approximate numbers of team members.
· Care must be taken to strictly follow the timing.
· Any form of misconduct and indiscipline from the participants will result in termination of the concerned team or college from the participation.
Events and Rules
Adzap
· Maximum of 5 members per team is allowed.
· Topics will be given on the spot. Teams will be given 5 min to prepare and maximum of 3 min to present
· The performance is judged based on the clarity in thought, innovativeness, humour,
team co-ordination and expression.
· Judges decision is final.
Circuit debugging:
· Maximum of two participants per team.
· Judges' decision is final.
· A set of 25 questions to be solved in 30 minutes.
· Format: Circuit theory - 7 Q. Analog and Digital - 5 Q. Devices - 5 Q. Processor - 3 Q. General apt - 5 Q.
· Evaluation will be based on error detection or junkyard.
· The team which gives maximum correct answers will be declared as winners
Puzzles
· Maximum of two persons per team
· Time to answer each question will be 3-4 mins
· Queries will be from basic maths
· Calculators are not allowed
· Cell phones are strictly prohibited
Ship wreck
You are marooned in an island and a rescue ship arrives. Only one person can be accommodated. Prove your worth, to get your berth.
· One participant per team
· Final round : 3 mins per participant
· Preliminary round: 1 min per participant
Cross word puzzling
· Maximum of three participants per team.
· Queries from basic physics and chemistry
· Calculators, log tables, Cell phones not allowed.
JAM (JUST A MINUTE)
· Maximum one participant per team.
· The chosen (volunteer) speaker is given one minute to talk on a random topic chosen by the instructor/moderator.
· Members of the audience can challenge the speaker in order to identify errors in:
Grammar
Spelling
Wrong Repeated
Junk words
Hesitation
· A successful challenge allows the challenger to take over the talk from the speaker for the remaining time. Speakers are scored by the number of seconds that they can speak without being challenged successfully. Thus the maximum number of points is 60
· For each second the speaker talks will be rewarded with one point.
· The team with maximum points will be announced as the winner.
Web Designing
· 3 Members per Team
· 1 Hour Duration
· Topic will be given on the spot
· Any software can be used
· Based on Prelims and Final rounds winner will be selected.
Gaming
· Maximum one participant per team
· This event would have around 1 game (like unreal, counterstrike) in system and spot games.
Product design
· 3 members per team
· The product to be designed will be given on the spot.
· The software used for designing would be CATIA V5/AUTOCAD 2010.
· Time allocation for designing will depend on the component (1hr – 2hrs).
QUIZ
· 2 members per team
· Preliminary rounds will be conducted which deals with objective pattern of questions.
· Qualifying teams gets the chance to enter into the real quizzing rounds.
· Video round, logo identification, brain storming etc.
Robotics Presentation
· 3 members per team
· Both manually operated and automated robots are welcome.
· We categorize the competition for application oriented robot, dancing robot, war robot, gaming etc.
· No power supply will be provided for your robots.
· The presentation of robots must be clear to explain its use.
· Questions will be asked by the judges.
· You will be given 5mins time for your presentation.
