Job Description :
We are seeking enthusiastic candidates for JRF positions in the laboratories of Dr. Sujit Nair and Dr. Raja Biswas at the Division of Molecular Medicine, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Cochin-682041, Kerala. Highly motivated candidates (with a prior M. Pharm. or M.Sc. degree in the Life Sciences) who have qualified for CSIR/DBT/ICMR/GATE fellowships are encouraged to apply for these Ph.D. opportunities in cutting-edge basic and translational research on projects that have been funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. The Biswas laboratory is working in the field of molecular microbiology using _Staphylococcus aureus _as a pathogen. Our aim is to identify major antigenic epitopes from staphylococcal secreted and cell surface associated proteins with an aim to generate a protective immunity against this pathogen.
The Nair laboratory works on cancer biomarker discovery using state-of-the-art microarray and proteomic technologies as well as bioinformatic approaches. The early drug discovery of novel small molecules that help prevent or treat cancer is also facilitated here. In addition, drug metabolism and disposition studies are integrated with advanced pharmacometric approaches to better appreciate the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of candidate drug molecules in oncology.
