Tribal Awards 2010
With a view to setting an ideal before society by perpetuating the self-respect, identity, leadership qualities and sacrifices of tribal communities and to publicize and recognize the tribal arts and skills and creative contribution of the tribal life, Madhya Pradesh Government has instituted Tribal Awards.
National Level Award
* Rani Durgawati Samman: (amount of award - Rs.2 lakh and scroll).
To be given to a tribal woman for outstanding achievements and contribution in tribal and traditional creative arts, crafts, social service and administration.
* Veer Shankar Shah-Raghunath Shah Samman: (amount of award - Rs.2 lakh and scroll).
To be given for long term contribution in excellent painting-writing about tribal life in Indian literature and long and outstanding devotion to traditional tribal arts.
* Thakkar Bapa Samman: (amount of award - Rs. 2 lakh and scroll).
To be given in recognition of service of the poor, exploited and backward tribal communities rendered with dedication, love and objectivity.
State Level Award
* Jannayak Tantya Bhil Award: (amount of award - Rs.1 lakh and scroll).
To be given to a tribal youth for outstanding devotion and excellent performance in the field of education and / or sports.
To be given to individual/institution having made outstanding achievements in the above said fields.
The awards would be given on the basis of long devotion, achievements/performance and not for any particular work or achievement, Extent: For the national awards entire India and for the state level award entire Madhya Pradesh.
Jury: Unanimous decision of the jury constituted by Madhya Pradesh Government, Tribal Welfare Department would be necessary, which would be binding for the government.
Format: Complete introduction of the individual/institution, specific information of the creative works done by him, details of the awards received by them previously, information of the reports published earlier about them and copies of the comments offered by eminent personalities/news papers-magazines about the nominated institution / individual are required to be attached with the entry. Entire responsibility of the facts/conclusions/evidences attached with the entry would lie with the submitter.
The State Government would not be considered a party in any dispute in this regard. If applying for more than one award, Please send separate nominations for each award.
Last Date: 20 February 2010.
Nominations/recommendations can be sent by individuals, institutions, sociologists, intellectuals, litterateurs, journalists, writers, critics, subject experts, universities, research institutes, tribal centres working in consonance with the ideals of tribal creative arts, crafts, education, sports, literature, culture and social service to:
