Govt. Model Science college, Jabalpur-482001
&
Indian Association of Nuclear Chemists and Allied Scientists (IANCAS)
Date of Function: 19-Feb-2013
To
23-Feb-2013
The Eleventh biennial symposium on "Nuclear and Radiochemistry" (NUCAR-2013) is being organised by the Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS), Department of Atomic Energy, in association with Govt. Model Science College (Autonomous), Jabalpur and Indian Association of Nuclear Chemists and Allied Scientists, Mumbai, during February 19-23, 2013 at Govt. Model Science College, Jabalpur-482001. This conference is one of the large meetings exclusively dedicated to nuclear chemistry, chemistry of actinides & fission products and various aspects of radiochemistry. Many scientists from National Laboratories, Universities and Research Institutes from India and abroad are expected to participate in the symposium providing provide a platform for effective interaction among the scientists engaged in research in the areas of nuclear and radiochemistry and applications of radioisotopes.
BRNS
The Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) through its nodal funding agency – The Board of Research in Nuclear sciences (BRNS) supports extramural research and development activities in nuclear and allied sciences, engineering and tehnology. The major activities of BRNS are: Identify and fund R & D programmes and projects, award fellowship to pursue doctoral programmes and research grants to young scientists, organize symposia on topic of relevance and interest to DAE as well as in frontier areas of science and technology, extend financial support to symposia and conferences oranised by professional bodies and other agencies, establishment of chairs in universities and other institutions of higher learning, create infrastructure facilities for advance research, identify/create and support centers of excellence. Talks will encompass basic studies and applications and will address topics of relevance to Nuclear Industry. During the five-day symposium, delegates will have an opportunity to interact with the experts in the field as they discuss recent advances, difficulties, and breakthroughs in the field of nuclear & radiochemistry and applications of radioisotopes. The conference will feature keynote addresses, a number of plenary sessions, invited talks, focusing on specific tenets of nuclear & radiochemistry. Additionally, there will be several oral & poster sessions, and the best oral & poster presentations will be selected for the awards. Invited talks and contributory papers will be published as a preprint volume to be distributed to the delegates during the symposium. A half-day has been reserved for relaxation and to visit to places of interest around Jabalpur.
In addition a Half-day seminar is being arranged to commemorate Centenary of Bohr atomic model 1913-2013.
